Why another website?

They say there are at least 8.24 billion indexed webpages (as of December 03, 2012) and over 223 million domain names (as of December 2011)… and here it is—yet another boring personal website, not even fancy. Clearly, I’m not really adding anything new to the world by setting up this site, and I’m aware of that. I mean, I rarely—intentionally—visit more than a handful of sites regularly other than Google, Facebook and Twitter.

This site probably won’t have a lot of visitors. I’m actually turning commenting feature off from this site for the most part; otherwise I’m going to have a trillion times more comments from spam-bots than humans. Had I expected actual feedback on my works, positive or negative, Facebook albums or Behance galleries would’ve been a smarter choice.

This tiny web presence here is really just for me and me alone: an archive of personal artifacts. As a designer, I build a lot of things every day, but rarely for myself. Somewhere along the career, while solving communication problems and dealing with marketing challenges for clients, the passion for creativity started to grow faint. All those Facebooking, Twittering, Instagramming and FourSquaring somehow made me feel more fragmented and purposeless. I needed an outlet. A place where I could stare at blank canvas for hours and not feel pressured.

So, here it is: a blank canvas just for me. Whoever you are who’s reading this, I thank you. Hope you enjoy what you find here. Please feel encouraged to say hi, if you do.
